The FlightLights LED Map Light replaces the existing gooseneck map light & housing on late AA-5 Series Grumman Aircraft with a 4 LED head assembly identical to our overhead Easy Lights. Installation is very simple - just unscrew the existing map light housing & incandescent bulb and screw the Map Light into the existing bulb socket. Absolutely no modifications to the airframe or existing wiring are necessary.

Innovative Features Include ---

This new design replaces our old style Map Light with a new improved and very bright LED head and barrel assembly. This solid state lighting is available all four colors again -- white, blue, red, or green

White is available with a smooth polished aluminum or black finish. Blue, red and green are available with a smooth polished black finish only.

The Map Light is 2 3/8 inches (60 mm) long. About 2/3 of that length protrudes from the end of the goose neck. Width of the head is 15/16 inch (23mm) flat to flat. The total weight is only 1.3 ounces.

Illuminates entire instrument panel or charts with bright, clean, wide and even light. No halos, gaps or weak spots.

Makes reading instruments, maps and other printed material a joy. Very long life cycle. LEDs, when used correctly, have an approximate life span of over 60,000 hours.

Considerably brighter than the original Grumman map light with significantly less power consumption

Much lighter than original unit Vibration proof design. Aircraft vibration will not be a factor.

A Few Words on FAA Approval

We consider the Fresh Aero map Light a major improvement in Grumman cockpit and cabin lighting. Intrinsic safety and easy installation with no modifications to the airframe or existing wiring make the Map Ligh a excellent lighting solution for your AA-5 series aircraft.

But even minor modifications to certified aircraft may need some type of FAA approval to be legally used in the aircraft. If you install the Map Light in your aircraft, you may need at least a FAA field approval to be completely legal and airworthy.

The FAA people we have talked with consider the installation of this unit a minor add-on that would be a "non-issue" with just a log book entry. At most, The Map Light can be easily approved using the field approval process. (337 form).

Many consider it nothing more than a light bulb replacement. Please talk to your local FAA Flight Standards Office for more information.
